    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Oboshie responded:
It all started in the early hours of Monday, 25th July, 2011; precisely 0100hrs GMT.
It began with some sharp contractions in my lower abdomen lasting for barely 5seconds at an interval of about 10-15 minutes.
I could, however, endure those contractions because it wasn't so painful. This continued till about 10 00hrs GMT of that same
Monday. Then the duration of the contractions increased a bit, and i couldn't endure it when standing. I, therefore, sat down on
a chair any time i felt the contractions were about to set in. My mum also made me walk the length and breadth of our house constantly from
10 00hrs to 1100hrs GMT, hoping that would speed up the progress of the contractions. At about 1300hrs, i went to the toilet and realised that
my mucus plug had come off. I saw it on the tissue i used over there. I then prepared and set off to the hospital with my mum and husband.
On arriving there at 1330hrs GMT, the midwife checked and told me i had effaced/thinned out completely but 3cm dilated. So i had to be admitted
till i dilated 10cm. This finally happened around 2200hrs GMT.Around 2000hrs, the contractions became more intense and occured in my waist line,
rather than my lower abdomen. The midwife on duty came to assist me give birth at 2200hrs. I had to go through episiotomy to aid me deliver my baby.
She finally came out from my womb at exactly 2300hrs GMT. She weighed 3.9kg.I then had the episiotomy stiches done.
Right after that, i became very cold and had to cover my whole body with blankets and cloths for about an hour, after which the cold subsided.
Finally, i could hold my first baby in my arms at 00 10 hrs GMT of Tuesday!!!!
I'm now contending with the healing and pain from the episiotomy,
