So Im 36 weeks and I went to the dr today and she checked my cervix, she said Im "very" soft and not dilated. This is my 3rd baby, so i thought I would start dilating too. We were going to try to do a membrane sweep in a few weeks, Im borderline preeclampic...Iv been have blood pressure issues and swelling and protien in urine...Sorry got off topic but since im already "soft" then will i start dilating? I know it will take weeks to dilate and all but I was just curious what happens next I was induce with my other too so i didnt even have this much progress before...but i was just wondering what to expect next?

I am in the same boat as you. I am 38 weeks pregnant, but have lost my mucus plug and have started dilating. This is my third child as well and my other two were induced. So this is all new to me. I was soft, but not dilating about two weeks ago and this last weekend I lost my plug. I would say hang in there and it may go on its own. If not and you are having contractions, good ones, then talk to your dr. about inducing this one too.
