I just got diagnosed with gestational diabetes two weeks ago i am 33 weeks pregnant, and I was just wondering if anyone knows what happens to the baby after birth do they like take it away for a lot of tests? I also have high blood pressure on top of the diabetes so I am not sure if the doctor will let me go full term!

Hi As lons as your sugar is under control there won't be anything done on the baby they will just check for the sugar .if they baby's sugar is too low then they will start BF with you soon and may even supplement formula if you don't have enough milk .but throughout the labor they montor ur sugar and make sure Baby's sugar is normal after being born .Don't worry .I have GD and had it on my earlier pregancy gtoo.but DS was normal
