At 30 wks pregnant i was sent to the hospital because while having sex i began to bleed badly, by the time i got to the hospital i was contracting a bunch but didnt relize it and i was dilated to a 4 with my cervix effaced 60-70% after a long night of drugs being pumped into me and procardia every 4-6 hours they where able to calm things down, after a week of the lovely hospital stay they sent me home, on stricked bedrest of course and i was told to take the procardia every 6 hours for contractions, i'm now at 35 1/2 wks and i had some LIGHT spotting last week but everyone i told said it was nothing so i didnt worry about it, but now for some reason i'm concerned, my vaginal discharge has been slightly heavier since then and its kinda tinged a slight brownish color, i get contractions every so often but i keep taking my procardia because even before the spotting i was having contractions anyway. My question is, is the spotting i had considered losing my mucous plug? and Since i'm on procardia can labor still begin or will it begin once i am taken off?

I think you need to ask your OB about it.

I don't know anything about pericardia. Your mucous plug looks like a brownish booger (gross I know, but totally true). I would def call your Dr. you can never be too safe
