Like the dilation process? You really can't. But you can stay dilated where you are now for weeks. Some woman months. What you can do is rest as much as possible, especially if you start having contractions that are consistent. I started dilating last pregnancy at 36 weeks...I was 2-3 cm and I ended up having my daughter at 38 weeks. I am 33 weeks now and a "dimple" dilated. So that really could not mean anything...I could stay a "dimple" until my induction at 39 weeks. Good luck to you and try to take it easy!

I don't really think that you can slow it down. I was 2 cm at 35 wks with my third and ended up having to be induced at 41 wks so just because you are already starting to have cervical changes it doesn't mean that labor is underway or even about to start anytime soon. Good luck to you!!!

You can't slow down dialation. But the more you dialate before you go into actual labor the better because it usually means that your labor will be shorter.

Some of my SIL's were dialated to a 4 for weeks before they actually delivered. So I wouldn't be worried about being at a 2.

I started dialating 3-4 weeks ago and i'm almost 34 weeks now.

Yea.. I agree. You cant slow it and I really wouldnt want to. It will deff help when you are in labor to be further dialated! With my last daughter I was a 4 at 33 weeks and went to 5 by 36 and delivered her at 41 weeks in a matter of an hr (thanks to being so far dialated). Kind of was terrible though. I was thinking for over a month that I was going to go into labor any day... It was too much worrying. Dont waste your time on thinking its going to happen. It could but doesnt mean it will. Just cross your fingers because every woman is different.
