Small dose of Aspirin

I had an ultrasound today to check the baby's developments. Everything looks great. The only concern was that the amniotic fluid was a little low. Also since I'm diabetic, the doctor came in after the tech and he suggested I talk to my OB about taking a low dose aspirin. Has anyone else taking a small dose of aspirin due to diabetes? I took baby aspirin for a bit when I was first diagnosed with diabetes, but I thought that was just for the heart. I thought aspirin was bad while pregnant.
