My doctor thinks that my blood sugar is dropping in the middle of the night and then my body is over compensating and so when I test in the morning it's too high. If testing 4 times a day isn't enough now I have to test in the middle of the night when I get up to go to the bathroom.
I've been trying to control my blood sugars as much as possible with diet and exercise. I've never been an unhealthy eater but counting carbs is alot more difficult than I thought.
Looks as if we are both doomed when it comes to diabetes. Both my grandmother's were diabetic. I have an aunt on my mothers side that was prediabetic but she was able to reverse that with diet and exercise. As for my mother's other siblings i'm not sure but I think at least one is diabetic. I don't know too much about my dad's family. He only had a younger brother and i'm pretty sure he's not diabetic although my grandmother was. My dad died when I was young so I don't know if he would have been diabetic later in life.
My family there is 9 kids and as far as I know only 2 of my siblings are diabetic with a possibility of 2 others. I know that one of my sister's is diabetic and i'm pretty sure the other one is too but she won't admit to it.
I hope your new dr is better than the last. I got pretty lucky and was able to find a good one right away. It sucks having a lousy dr.
