I've been a type one diabetic since 1995 (when I was five years old) and I never thought I would have a child, yet here I am nineteen weeks pregnant! Being pregnant and a type one diabetic is extremely stressful; I'm constantly worried about having an eleven pound baby, and every time my blood sugar spikes I'm scared it's just one step closer to my baby getting bigger. I'm sure there are other type one pregnant diabetics in this community, so I'd like to hear from yall and hear about your fears and struggles with your health and pregnancy (and of course the positive things, too!).

Hi I was reading your post and I thought I would share my experience with Type 1 and being pregnant. I was 11 when I found out I was Type 1 when I was 24 I found out I was pregnant with my son who is now 6 years old. I was scared at first too but with good treatment from all of your doctors (working together) and friends and groups like this one you will be fine. Just try to remember to try and stay relaxed and clam because to much stress is never a good thing for anyone.
I am also 27 weeks along on my second pregnancy and having a girl this time. So like I said take it easy on stress and listen to your doctors (make sure they are talking to each other) so you get the best treatment possible OK.
