Yes, of course. As with any treatment, there is always a chance for local recurrence or developing distant disease. In general, (as with prostatectomy, external beam radiation or cryotherapy), the more aggressive the disease, (higher Gleason score, PSA, and/or clinical/pathologic stage) the higher the likelihood of recurrence or failure after seed implantation.
