BabyLovesPrada posted:
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon Onion Powder
? teaspoon Garlic Powder (I use more, but I always taste it before I add more just incase)
1 pound thinly sliced boneless skinless chicken breasts
4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 pkg sliced mushrooms
1 cup Marsala wine
1+ cup chicken broth (normally I use more since I love the sauce)

DIRECTIONS

1. Mix flour, garlic salt and pepper. Coat chicken with flour mixture.

2. Heat 2 tablespoons of the oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken; cook until lightly browned. Remove from skillet; keep warm.

3. Use the rest of the oil in same skillet. Add mushrooms, Stir in wine, broth and spices. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer for a few minutes.

Optional: Add a little bit of flour to thicken the sauce.

Is marsala wine very expensive? My husband loves chicken marsala but I've never made it at home. I was planning on making it a few years ago but couldn't fine the marsala wine at the grocery store (I went to Meijer). I have no idea what other wines it would even be with... ex. red wines, white wines ???

It was in my grocery store, Stop and Shop, (I am in MA) it was $3 something but I got it on sale for $2.99 the brand was Holland? or something that began with an H, I will look tonight.....and was really yummy (although WARNING the smell of alcohol is almost everwhelming, once it cooks down tho- it was DELISH, it was with the cooking wines/sherry/red wine vinager and the bottle is smaller than a wine bottle. I would just go ask someone if you can't find it!

Oh and we had the Crimini Mushrooms (baby portabella mushrooms) on sale and IMHO, they are FAR superior to the white button mushrooms.

OH! and last but not least, I had not thrown away the seasoned flour after i dredged the chicken in it, which was great to use to make the slurry to thicken the sauce.
