Has anyone had nodules removed? They are unsightly and painful if you have them in certain areas. Does anyone know what they consist of?

I had a nodules removed from my thumb in December 2008.
No idea what they consist of but mine was very sensitive to heat and I was always hitting it on stuff. It took a long time for the majority of feeling to come back to the area. Doc said the nodule had nerves running all around & through it.

I was warned that surgical removal didn't guarantee that it wouldn't return but if it didn't come back in the first year then it probably wouldn't. Still nodule free.

I had a nodule removed from my pointer finger in January this year. It was very painful. I could hardly bend my finger. I now have more movement and bend in that finger than I've had in years. It was a painful surgery but I love the effects. Good Luck!

Thanks for the response. I was told that removal doesnt mean that they wont come back. I have two large nodules just under my elbow and cant lay my arm down without hitting them. I also am getting more on my wrist joint. Glad you were successful. I am considering surgery. Hope mine goes as well.

So glad your surgery went well. I didnt realize that the nodules had nerves running thru them. I should have realized that with the pain that comes with them. Hope I have as good a luck as you did. Thanks for the response.
