Wrist pain
rennah77 posted:
I have had RA for several years now and have been on several different medications. Humira worked wonderful for about 3 years and then stopped. Now on Remicade and it is doing fairly well. My problem is that I have terrible wrist pain and have recently found out that I have severe damage due to the RA, pretty much bone on bone. I am now looking at a joint fusion of the wrist. Has anybody had this done and how was the outcome.

Scott Zashin, MD responded:
You may want to take this question to the orthopaedic site. The goal of joint fusion is to eliminate pain. It can affect activities of daily living so certainly discuss the benefits and potential risks and limitations with your doctor.
