Lab results - is this the right med to treat RA pain for me?

    Hello RA Community,

According to recent routine lab tests, and based on the numbers, it shows Humira is working for me. That's good, I guess, but why do I still have so much pain? My rheumy says that it could be fibromyalgia & accd'g to a past pain specialist, it wasn't clear on whether or not I had it. Do have other health issues; Type 2 Diabetes & osteoarthritis among a few others. It seems that I'm not well long enough to start a routine exercise program or to ward off other illnesses (work with spec. ed ele. children - petrie dishes).

Have already tried Enbrel and dr switched me to Humira. Worked great at first, but is it possible to develop a tolerance to this script?

    Scott Zashin, MD responded:
Yes, many patients with RA also have OA and FM. Sometimes it takes some detective work to determine if the pain is from RA versus another cause. The physical exam as well as markers of inflammation such as the ESR, CRP and the new Vectra test may be useful to help determine if pain is from RA or from OA or FM

Leaky gut can cause more than one disease. I suggest clear up the leaky gut without the drugs doing more damage to heal your bowel and body. Otherwise it will be a lifelong contest between you and how much pain you can endure and how many auto immune problems you can stand.
