I have had RA for 10 years and have taken Plaquenil almost the whole time. Methotrexate made me sick so I couldnt take it. I also take Prednisone 5-10 mg every day. It is a mean drug but when you gotta have it, you gotta have it. I also give myself a weekly injection of Humira. In the beginning, I was a young active nurse working 12-16 hrs a day. Unfortunately, now I am on disability because the RA and fibromyalgia had taken a toll on my body. The fatigue and pain is almost daily now. Not trying to discouraged you. I am researching constantly for a cure or help. Just ordered some cobra venom gel to rub on painful areas. Believe me, I've tried everything! I am also researching Honey Bee venom. I have been told injected in the joint can relieve the pain. Just make sure you are taking plenty of calcium with the prednisone because it does pull calcium out of bones. I take 50,000units of Vit. D weekly and 1500mg calcium every day. You have to take Vit D w Calcium otherwise it is no good. No side effects from the Plaquenil. So good luck and God Bless You. Hang in there! Im looking for a local support group now...its nice to talk to someone who is experiencing the same thing.

THe cobra venom that you ordered, is that called cobroxin? I've seen their ad in the martha stewart magazine and thought about ordering it. Good luck!! Please let us know how it works.
