My husband will not get help of any kind, except he is on paxil for depression. I believe it is a deeper issue. He is content and happy one minute, and then like a light switch gets angry and verbally aggressive over virtually nothing. I don't know how else to help and I am ready to give on the marriage because he does not think what he says and does is wrong.

It sounds like there is a mood disorder present. Might not be bipolar but it still could be in the mood disorder category. Lithium really helps me and it is easy to take and adjust to. I take paxil, lithium. I also take zyprexa since my diagnosis is schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type.

How is it going, Anon_50302? Has anything changed since a month ago? I knew someone like you described with a light-switch aggressive personality over nothing. He was always like that. When I didn't have to be around him at all, and then some years later I happened to be around him, he was still the same...But I didn't have to be around him, so I left him where he was to stew in his own anger and aggressiveness. Too much negativity for me.

Out of curiosity, if your husband has depression, why did you choose to post in the Schizophrenia Exchange? You might get more answers in the Depression Exchange...
