To stop taking zyprexa do you go cold turkey or wean yourself by smaller doses?
alilagrant responded:
I'd say whatever your doctor says.

I have a friend who is always weaning himself off medication and always ending up in the "revolving door", in and out of the psych ward of the hospital all of the time. For some reason, even though he went to an Ivy League school, he never gets that he has to keep taking his psych meds for the rest of his life, if he wants to live a stable life.

I hope you will talk to your doctor, therapist, peer specialists, etc.
cyncyn1120 responded:
why do you want to quit taking it? if you don't need to be on it then you should ask your doctor how to go off!
lanrover replied to cyncyn1120's response:
My psych just told me how to wean off zpyrexa - 10mg for 5 days and 5mg for 10 days. He will evaluate my then to determine the need to start a new antipsychotic. I have been on meds for over one year. My diagnosis is schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type. I hope to stay the meds for a while to see how I am.
