I have a friend who has been diagnosed with Schizophrenia. My friend has been receiving treatment for this condition with Consta injection. She recently started taking Risperdal 4mg/daily. On several occasions she has had to go into the ER with symtoms including abnormal thoughts, depression, severe anxiety, drooling, cotton mouth, dizziness, weakness, pacing, uncontrolled movements, high blood pressure, fast heart rate. When she goes to the ER the doctors tell her she is having a panic attack, give her antianxiety meds and send her home. Today she is having the same symptoms. We went to the pharmacy and check her blood pressure, not good. 160/110 heartrate 101. She decided she is not going back to the ER. She has paranoia and is convinced that the doctors will send her to a mental health hospital, lock her up and sedate her. She is now refusing to take the Risperdal. Any professionals out there? Please advise.

Why can't she go to the medical section of the ER? With physical symptoms as you described, they must treat them.
