    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,
    WebMD Message Boards Management

It's been suggested that we leave a space between the start of a post and the triggering part.

Write something innocuous in the first line. then leave some spaces between in and the subject matter. this should take care of accidentally triggering someone.

I don't really understand what happened. You went to donate plasma and someone said something about your cuts? Or you didn't go to donate plasma and cut yourself?

By the way, I think they are inspecting your arms to see where the best vein is, not looking for cuts/scars. I've donated blood many times (never plasma specifically) and I know they really don't care about the cuts. Plus they ask about a million questions ahead of time and if SH were an issue I would think it would be one of the questions that they ask (and it isn't). Maybe it's different where you donate though, I don't know.

[TRIGGER] I see. I'm sorry that happened and that it is causing you pain, but I'm glad you have found a positive alternative to cutting. You are helping to save lives while improving your own.... that is great!

Hey Dem - if you "infiltrated," which means basically the IV blew and the fluid went into the skin - keep your arm elevated up on some pillows and ice it a little bit to help with any bruising.

What a great thing to do for someone. Plasma and other blood products are really needed. Think of the good you are doing and if it helps you to not SI - wow thats awesome.

Thank you for being generous and helping save someone's life by giving.
