It's been suggested that we leave a space between the start of a post and the triggering part.

Write something innocuous in the first line. then leave some spaces between in and the subject matter. this should take care of accidentally triggering someone.

IJUST POSTED THE POST AND IT SHOWED ANON SMOTHING?
WIERD I ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE ENTER BUTTON AND IT POSTED

SO YOU NEED TO USE GROUNDING TECHNIQUES
SUCH AS:

1) COUNT FROM 100 BACKWARDS
2) SEE THAT YOUR FEET ARE ON THE FLOOR ARMS ON CHAIR AND BEHIND IN SEAT OF CHAIR (FEEL THIS)
3) BREATHE DEEPLY FROM YOU LOWER STOMACH SLOWLY AND FEEL YOUR BREATHE COME INTO YOUR LUNG AND FEEL THE BREATHE GO OUT OF YOUR NOSE CONCENTRATE ON THE BREATHE
THATS ALL I CAN THINK OF BUT PERHAPS OTHERS CAN ADD SOME GROUNDING TECHNIQUES OF THEIRS TO THE LIST

GOD SPEED

nerd kitty! ha ha.
nerd fran just call me anon.

So another really good grounding technique is: 5,4,3,2,1

I see 5 things (say them outloud) I Hear 5 things (say them outloud) I Feel 5 things (say them outloud) Like I feel my foot in my shoe, i feel my butt in the chair whatever you feel.........if its super quiet you could even say you hear yourself swallow.
then you do 4
3
2
and 1
all of ciourse with seeing, heariung and feeling

you may repeat if you get stuck (don 't spend time thinking and nthinking of things just repeat if you get stuck)

Hope this helps If anyone wants to know of how this theory was started its a very fasinating story let me know and i'll write it out

I'll have to try some of these the next time I start feeling dissociated. So they really work? Like you suddenly start feeling back down to earth again?

[TRIGGER] OTW I would recommend trying techniques that add in other elements then just "head chatter."

Dissociation can be a stubborn thing that requires you to use more then one sense to pull you back.

squeezing an ice cube.

smelling coffee grounds or other potent spices.

Cold rag to back of neck

************ triggery suggestion*********

snapping wrist with a rubber band.

peppermint life savor - chew it up

big red or dentine gum - several peices at same time

UNdissociating is a skill you can learn. Over time I was taught to use the color orange to ground me, pull me forward. Now all it takes is visualizing an orange and I can get back.

Leave yourself bread crumbs. Have a visual to help you get back.

for example us the ladder image. See yourself climbing back up the rungs. Or a diving image, the water lightening as you assend from the depth till you break the surface.

Or use music as your bread crumbs, dance your way back to being present.
I'm not really a psychopath, I just play one on the internet.
