It's been suggested that we leave a space between the start of a post and the triggering part.

Write something innocuous in the first line. then leave some spaces between in and the subject matter. this should take care of accidentally triggering someone.

I wasn't named after anyone. my parents just pulled my name out of the sky. he he he. my nickname was a friend's idea.

at least they made a girl's name from your father's name. i like your name. it fits you.
I didn't get an image until 1976, prior to that She didn't visualize me as a person. I got my physical image from a class mate who she fell in love with who that year was killed.

A year or so later I was given the name Starsky from the TV show Starsky and Hutch. I was given Lee as a middle name from the boy she took my image from, and Starr she borrowed from the Beatles drummer.

Somewhere over the eons of time the spelling of my name was changed to Starskee. My nick has been Ste since the late 70's.

The user name for this account comes from hypnotherapy - DOGDANCING is our inner healer. The TCOS tacked on is who we all are collectively...The Children of Starr.

I'm not really a psychopath, I just play one on the internet.

My parents had a couple of name ideas for me before I was born. Then I was born and my dad looked at me and said, " I think we should name her ____." It was a name they hasn't discussed but my mom thought about it and realized she really liked the nickname for my name so that was it. I've always gone by the nickname and think it fits me well.

It's kind of nice to go by a nickname because it's easy to tell who actually knows me or who just read my name off a form or something. For instance, my last year of teaching I had a principal who acted all buddy-buddy with everyone but all she did was talk and never listened to what anyone else had to say. The entire year she called me by my given name, never bothering to realize that all my co-workers called me by a different name. Had a T once who I kept telling her the name I went by but each new session I guess she would forget and call me by my given name again. It made me wonder what else she would forget about me from week to week.

Anyway, a lot of you know my real name and that's the story of how I got it.....

By the way, BB, this was a great idea for a thread. Very interesting and a good distraction.

I have had many names... living in foster care etc... An Aunt told me once I was names Bonita Louisa by a nurse at the hospital and it was changed. My original: Gwynedd Gabreilla Donovan. Which means Purity of Heart.
