It's been suggested that we leave a space between the start of a post and the triggering part.

Write something innocuous in the first line. then leave some spaces between in and the subject matter. this should take care of accidentally triggering someone.

So I spent 3 days in a mental hospital. I would've spent more if my dad dint fight so hard to get me out. I got there because I cut mself so bad i needed 6 stiches and the crisis worker said m burns on my arm were the worst she ever saw. That experience welll it... didn't really help. I didnt really talk to anyone and.. all I did was watch tv and sleep the 3 days. I'm glad I'm out but I'm afraid..... that ill do it again. I don't wanna disappoint m family

You need a treatment plan. You can't just heal from self injury without discovering why you learned this coping skill in the first place.

It helps to have someone teach you healthy coping skills. Teach and help you practice them and put them in place of the injuring.

Being inpatient for such a short time won't help. Recovery isn't something that happens over night. Psych stays are helpful for crisis's and stuff like med changes and big safety issues.

Sadly most of the medical profession still has the wrong idea about SIV (self inflicted violence).

start looking for a therapist. Call around and speak with them on the phone or take advantage of the offered free initial consult and INTERVIEW them to find the right fit for you.

Healing is possible. Its worth the effort to live without the SIV.

I'm not really a psychopath, I just play one on the internet.
