It's been suggested that we leave a space between the start of a post and the triggering part.

Write something innocuous in the first line. then leave some spaces between in and the subject matter. this should take care of accidentally triggering someone.

How and Why to Report a Post
I have a problem other than cutting
An_255965 posted:
One of my friends is threatening to stop being my friend unless I stop cutting. I know she means well, but I don't know how to explain to her my situation without making things worse. Any ideas?

check out the internet on sh. find something she can read that will help explain things to her.
rugger1369 responded:
Hi An-

Are you currently trying other ways to handle things besides sh-ing? Such as therapy or keeping a journal. Maybe sharing your efforts will help her understand too.

Slik has a good idea too. Find articles you can relate to and share them with her. I've also found writing an open letter to help organize my thoughts. Then you can give or share it with her. Explain how important the friendship is but this is personal struggle and you need support.

I hope your friend is willing to listen. Stay strong!
