Hello everyone!I am new to pregnancy as well as new to this discussion group!!i wanted to talk to people that are going through the same thing i am since evryone else just seems to want to tell me how im doing things i shouldn't be. The stress is overbearing.one person says this the next says that...i feel paranoid!i have been told that i shouldn't reach high up, heartburn is good beacause the baby will have more hair, eat fish, dont eat fish, swim don't swim. I guess i just feel like im crazy for being paranoid about what people tell me. I do want to do things right but i dont know what is right anymore. I try to take things with a grain of salt and just tell myself it is advice not necessarily fact. Especially when people will tell me how i should never reach in my cabinets since it is bad for the baby while they are blowing cigarette smoke in my face. I feel like my doctor is tired or answering all of my questions. Am i wrong for worrying??

If you ever have a question, try asking it here first or on a reliable (like WebMD) site. Of course unless it's an emergency. But I know where you are coming from- the "don't do this- while they're smoking right in front of you." Tons of people like that! I love when somebody tells me something I'm suppose/not suppose to do- and I already know the factual truth and can give it right back to them! Another good source is whattoexpect.com and the book What To Expect- since I got mine I've read all the controversial stuff and am ready when my MIL tells me not to do this or that! lol

HTH :)

Women have been having babies for thousands of years.. Seems like whatever generation you're talking to they have a list of what the Dr's told them what to do and what not to do..
The list is forever changing. Keep in mind the 3 big No's (No smoking, alcohol, or drugs), keep everything else to a moderation, and don't forget to take your prenatals. :) You're not wrong for worrying, but don't stress yourself out.

Not wrong at all for worrying, in fact this is my third pregnancy and I still have questions and worry about everything. Dont worry you are completely normal :-) Your doctor should not be tired of your questions it is his job after all. lol but I can relate to you completely. This is a good site for your questions as long as its not emergency related.

You are never wrong for worrying about your LO's health. However, like bitesize said, women have been having babies for thousands of years and I'm sure they've raised their hands above their heads or danced or any of the things "advice givers" tell us not to do.

Just do what feels right for you, hun and don't let anyone but the doctor influence you with "advice".

Well, it was a loooong road to get to baby #2. DH and I have been married for a little more than a year (married 2/14/09) and we have pretty much been...More
