Hey guys!! Im new to the site and I got a few questions for yas... I recently went to the hospital for pelvic pain and and symptoms of an infection. They took a urine sample and sent it off for an std screen. They diagnosed me with cervicitis and endocervicitis and told me I probably had chlamydia or ghonorrhea but they had to wait for the test results to come back to be sure. Well the tests came back negative and 3 days later the pain in my abdomen started getting worse. (to the point where I could not stand up straight or lift anything). So I went back to the er where they did another urine culture, a blood test, and a ct scan. When the tests came back fine but with a very high wbc count they told me I most likely have PID. When I researched PID it shows that the main causes are stds which I do not have. Now my abdomen is still hurting, Im still having signs of an infection, and my abdomen is starting to swell to a very large size. I literally look like Im 6 months pregnant. Any ideas of what this could be and what I should do??

I'd suggest you stop using the ER as your primary physician and make an appointment with a Gynecologist to look into this issue further.

I dont have a primary care physician yet because I dont have insurance or else I would.... AND this isnt the first time this has happened to me. It happened about a year ago also. I DID have insurance then, went to a Gynecologist, and had the same story.... I have had blood work, urine cultures, paps, ultrasounds, and ct scans and they still cannot figure out why my abdomen is blown up like a basketball. But THANKS!!!
