I was so excited with my decision to have the Implanon inserted in November 2011; not having to worry about taking pills regularly made extremely happy.

Boy, was it not worth it.

About two weeks into having the Implanon my life completely changed. I became severly depressed, I was anxious, I gained weight, then I lost weight, I was nauseous, I started sleeping more than half the day away, I had mood swings that nearly cost my relationship with my boyfriend, I cried nearly every night without any cluse as to why and then would cry more because I didn't know why, my head hurt constantly, I was constantly dizzy, the side effects do not end. It was hell.

I opted for the early removal May 2012 and I only suffered worse. I now, July 2012, am suffering from sever headaches and am sleeping constantly. I am having problems staying away during work and school. I have gained a major amout of weight and have lost all color in my face. I have had 1 MRI, 2 CT scans, and endless blood work. I cannot stress enough to NOT have the Implanon inserted into your body and if you do, know the side effects of it inserted and especailly the removal.

Implanon is HELL!!!!!

Have your removal symptoms leveled out since your post? I am trying to find a way to get it out myself. It's been in a year and 3 months and I've experienced nearly all the symptoms, but the worst ones are the headaches/neckaches (which are stress only, according to my past doctor...though I'm hardly more stressed than ever) and the hair loss. It's getting pretty bad and I don't think I'm going to have much to lose. Was it worth it getting the implanon out or has it been just as bad still?
