    HPV bumps
    An_248022 posted:
I am 42yr old woman who has only had one other sex partner in my life since my husband died last yr. I was happy to finally have a "normal" sex life (my husband was addicted to porn for yrs) I recently had a abnormal pap and Dx of HPV. I questioned my boyfriend however he only recently(because he has new bumps) told me that 22yrs ago he had some bumps on his penis . He said he saw a DR got some meds and was told to keep it clean. He said the bumps went away and came back only a few times over the years. What STD is this? Do HPV "warts" come and go. Im worried it is something else (bacterial??) but the bumps do not hurt him. They are 4 small round bumps on the shaft they are dry and depressed in the center. I am worried this could be something else. I did not stay faithful to one man for 20 yrs to be dealing with this issue at this point in my life. I was already upset about the HPV DX now possibly something else.

HPV is a virus, and is the most common STD. In fact most people will have this STD at least once at some point in their lives. HPV can cause abnormal paps and/or they can cause warts. Yes, warts can come and go, if you get them. I've had abnormal pap but never developed warts. The person I got it from had warts but I never did. Most HPV cases clear after a few years, in other words it goes away.
