Is taking birth control pills late every so often okay?

Every so often, my girlfriend will forget to take her birth control pill at night and she'll take it in the morning to make up for it. I'm pretty sure it's a combination pill (we're both in college and I guess that's the most common for young women). We aren't having vaginal intercourse, but I figure it's something I should know about it. Thank you!

If you aren't having vaginal intercourse, there is nothing to worry about in terms of unwanted pregnancy (I'm assuming that's your concern) in the first place.

If it's a combination pill she has a 12-hour window of error. If she takes it later than this you'll need to use a backup method of contraception for a week. If she's on the minipill, that window is reduced to 3 hours.
There's nothing inherently dirty about sex, but if you try real hard and use your imagination you can overcome that.
