Need to be retested for Chlamydia. I had shoulder surgery and they gave an Ancef IV before surgery. How long do I need to wait before I can get a valid Chlamydia test?

I'm so sorry no one replied to you?! I would think no more than a day or so? Any fluids they pump into you, should dissipate shortly thereafter, I would think?

I would give it a week, for a just in case, you know what I mean? Then ask the doctor prior to setting the appointment through his nurse. Maybe the nurse herself would know the answer?

I wish you luck for a negative!!!

The Ancef you took (whether orally or via IV) will have no effect on the accuracy of a Chlamydia test. Therefore, you can be retested for this STD any time you wish.
