Tools to protect yourself from infections during oral sex
Karen Luster, MD posted:
1. Condoms- don't forget they can come in flavors
2. You can cut a condom open and use it as a covering for oral sex with a female.
3. Plastic wrap found at your local grocery store can be used. It may help reduce risk as well.

I have heard that unlubricated condoms are typically for oral sex, and a person can buy the flavored lubricant of their choice? Is that correct?
Karen Luster, MD replied to malbatross's response:
flavored condoms are still latex; therefore, they can be used for oral, anal , or vaginal sex.

I just read the following from another expert here: "The estimated risk of HIV from oral sex (both giving and receiving) is .5 to 1 per 10,000 exposures with a source KNOWN to carry the virus. So small as to be negligible. Your risk would be even less since you cannot confirm your partners status."

Is it really that important to use protection as you describe here in giving oral sex to a woman?
