I am trying to face memories from my past. I would like to see a therapist, but I'm not sure how to find one, what to look for in regards to "specialty", or even how to begin my journey. I am extremely nervous to go down this road because my husband knows nothing about this and I know I am not ready to talk to him about it.

most therapists will let you have an initial appt for free. so you can look in your phone book, find some and make appts so you can go in and ask them questions.
