    it works using sound, light or touch. it is alternated between right and left. when doing this with a bad memory, it is supposed to help change the emotions associated with that memory so the memory becomes less traumatic.

    Don't be afraid. It will be difficult at first but stay "tuned in" to your therapist. It will be amazing at how you get into the deepest of your emotions and suddenly you feel better (and there were times we used EMDR several weeks in a row).

    If your therapist does not have any training certification for EMDR, DO NOT allow him/her to use that therapy until they can attend professional classes.

    Remember your therapist is your employee. You can refuse some therapy practices if your therapist hasn't had the proper training.
