hello, I was recently diagnosed with herpes. When i went to see my doctor he didn't do any test or anything, I have been with the same guy for 9 years he was my first. So why all of a sudden herpes popped up? he hasnt showed any symptoms or anything and he swears he has been faithful, I read that it can be in your body without knowing for years. I had my son a year and a half ago and they do blood test to see if you have anything and nothing came up. So I am not sure how I got herpes.

Looking at it is not good enough. The Doc should have taken a swab and had it cultured to see if it was herpes and if so which kind of herpes. HSv 1 or 2. What you need to do now is go and get a type specific igg blood test for HSV 1 & 2 and ask for a copy of your test results and post them on here. It will be something like this HSV 1 igg is 1.60 and HSV 2 igg is 2.90 or what ever it says and post them on here so someone can help you as to your sttatus.
