My friend is 78 years old and suddenly has problems with breakouts around the mid face and nose. He is into oral sex and I believe with multiple yound partners. Could his symptons possibly relate to STD?

At this age about 80% of people have HSV 1 orally. If he is still concerned then get him to go and see a Doc with in 48 hours of his next out break and get the Doc to swab/culture it to find out what it is. That way he will know for sure. Most HSv 1 forms on the lip and not on the face . Some times people can get an HSv 1 ob in the nasal area. The best thing for him to do is see his Doc asap when he gets this again.
