I need help. I'm 18 and me and my boyfriend have had sex recently. The day after I was sore but I didnt pay no attention to it because he was kind of rough. Well its been almost a week since and now I have a white, kinda thick discharge. Also I have two bumps on my vagina lips... sorry don't know the correct term.. and it burns like hell to me. its to the point where ive been holding my pee in which isnt good i know. Also, ive been feeling kinda weak, and i think i was running a fever earlier. i really hate the thought of going to the doctor. i feel ashamed. i know it'll piss my mom off and she'll probably kick me out. I need help... information.. does anybody know what this could be?

The white, thick discharge sounds like it could be a yeast infection. But if you want to know for sure you will need to make an appointment with a Dr and have this looked at. We cannot tell you for sure what is going on over an internet chat board. Be safe and have this looked at by a medical professional, since you are having sex now it's a good idea to start getting your annual PAPs done, if are not already.

How old can you be to go to a gyno by yourself?
Ive been before, but my moms always went with me for some reason.. And its uncomfortable now & i'd just rather do this on my own. And if it is something serious, I could tell her about it. But a yeast infection is nowhere near as bad as an STD or anything.

Your best bet is to call the Gynecologists office and ask this question.

If you feel uncomfortable doing this (and some will if insurance is involved), consider contacting any local Planned Parenthood Organization; they offer lower cost reproductive services.

Make sure to consult your health care provider in case:
  • This is your first time experiencing the condition
  • You are unsure if you are afflicted with vaginal yeast infection
  • The symptoms will not go away after consuming OTC oral or topical medications
  • The symptoms are worsening
  • Other symptoms are present
The most common symptoms of yeast infection include soreness, itching, painful urination and painful sexual intercourse. Aside from these symptoms, infected females may experience having yeast infection discharge as well. This is characterized by thick and white discharge that may appear like cottage cheese. This could be what you're having.

You have to be checked because the "bumps" can be herpes.
