Today I got the awful news that I have been diagnosed with HSV2. I was stupid enough to have unprotected sex with a friend one month ago. Now I have been diagnosed and getting meds tommorrow. I wonder what the hell I do now? How do I go on trying to date? I do I talk to people about this? Im hoping people who have this can guide me through advice to help cope with this.

Hi,
I know how you feel. I was diagnosed after being married for 10 years! I am now going through a divorce and have often feared having to tell a potential partner. I can tell you this...it hasn't been as bad as I thought. I have told two people and both still decided to be with me, one of which is turning into a serious relationship. If the person cares about you, they often will ask lots of questions (if not educated about it) and come to a respectful decision. It is soooo common! I tell people that it is a risk for them to catch it, but by using condoms and me taking medicine, the risks are greatly reduced. My boyfriend was seriously concerned about it but now we don't even used condoms. We understand the risk and he cares enough about me to still want to be with me. Of course, a person might decide that is it is not a risk that they are willing to take which is fine too. I imagine that would hurt, but ultimately the right person for you will accept it.
I'll check back. Let me know if you have any questions
