IGG Test

An_246948 posted:
I had an IgG done in May and it came back as 2.2. I had a followup test and it came back as 2.1 (for HSV 2)

The scale says above above 1.1 is Positive.

I have absolutely no symptoms. My partner was tested and had negative results.

My doctor says this is borderline and because it has not changed it is "most likely" I do not have HSV-2.

Is this correct?

So they came back almost the same after 2 months. You still do not know for sure what your status is! Two choices. First wait till the 6 month point and get another igg test but what if you get the same result or very similar. The second choice is to get a Western Blot test for HSV 2 which was originally done in U of Wash but now it is available at most labs. If you want you could go to the lab and pay for the test from what I understand.
To learn more read the Herpes Handbook. Terri Warren's book The Good News about the Bad News. It is available now as am e-book. Click on The Tiger to get more details.

Is there anywhere in New York I can get the Western Blot for HSV-2?
