Genital Herpes meds and swimming

Hello, I was wondering if it is ok to use hydrocortisone acetate 1% ceam for the itch? (I have it to help with the itch of hives from something else).
I was also wondering if it is ok for my body for me to swim in the ocean, lake or pool? Could it make the herpes worse or add infections because of the open sore???

No comment on the ointmen.

OK to swim in ocean and pool but you may not want to do that if you have an ob as the salt in the ocean and chemicals in the pool will most likely burn a lot. But it is ok as from what I understand is that the chemicals in the pool would kill any chance of spreading herpes. Also the salt in the ocean water would be good for you ass salt is a natural cleanser. Many people gargale with salt if they have a sore throat and it feels better. I not sure now much better it would feel though it you had an active ob.
