Hi, I found out today I have HSV2. It is almost 5am and no matter how many "good" posts I read, I can't comfort myself. I am 23yrs old and I've had only 2 sexual partners.
Fortunately one of them got tested a few weeks after our last encounter and he does not have the virus. Meaning that it was the other guy, who forced me to have unprotected sex 2 weeks ago. I had a small outbreak that lasted 6 days and wasn't too painful...I am overly worried about this...since my body reacted almost immediately. Could anyone please tell me how are the first outbreaks? Also, besides the physical discomfort I am dealing with depression....in a lapse of less than two months I lost my job, broke up with my bf and then contracted this virus.

The first ob can last anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks. As the other poster that you replied to has explaind that thingsd will get better. The touth thing for you is that you lost your job and it would be good if you could get on some suppressive therapy. If you cannoth afford Valtrex or its generic then ask your doc for a R/x for Acyclivir. You have to take it twoice a day but it is really inexpensive. Keep on reading all those posts and go back 10, 20 or more pages there is really good info on the old posts.
