HPV cancer strain

I got diagnosed with HPV the cancer strain in July 2012. I have recently went through the colposcopy phase and my doctor took a biopsy of my cervix. I got my results back and my doctor told me that I have the mild version of HPV. Which means my body will cure itself and I will come back in 3 months for a check up to make sure my body fought off the virus. Out of my many questions asked, how is this going to affect me in the future? Will I pass this on to my partners? Do I have to tell previous partners? My doctor told me that I will forever carry this virus, it will lay dormant and like some of you said that if my immune system is low for whatever reasons there is a possible chance of my body testing positive again. Also my doctor said that it is a personal preference to tell previous partners or new ones. Which really confused me even more because I feel like HPV is becoming an epidemic. No professionals know much about it and you would think to control this you would want to tell your partners and previous partners no matter how you think you received this virus. So my main question is since I have HPV the cancer strain, is the cancer strain transmittable?
