Paranoid about accidently spreading my ghsv 1

I recently got hsv 1 in my genitals. I am still in my first ob. I have trouble functioning day to day because I am so worried about accidental spreading it to other parts of my body or to someone else. I live in fear of having to go to the bathroom because I know I will have to touch down there. I am afraid of my dirty underwear and towels and after I take a shower I make sure to dry my genitals last, then feel the need to wash my hands. Am I being way over paranoid? Also what about when there is not an active ob?

You are over reacting.to HSV 1 genitally First of all you will get on average one more ob with HsV 1 genially in the first year and then on average one ob every other year.

All you need to do is wath hyour hadns when you have an ob and touch yourself down yonder. Other than that you do not need to wash your clothes or towels or sheets seperately. Soap and water will kil any possible remains in the wash.

Just avoid sex when you have an ob and resume once it has healed. Tell any partner about your HSV 1 genitally so they can decide for themselves. if they want to be initmate with you.

It normally does not spread to other partes of your body. YOu need to be concerned as you can still get HSV 2 even if you have hsv 1
