I am 52 year old male. My female partner is same age. We have not had sex yet. Decided to both get STD tests. SHe neded up getting the herpes test as well. She tested positive for HSV 1. My STD tests did not include herpes, so I asked for herpes test. The results follow:

HSV_1 RESULT 0.11 0.00 - 0.89 Index, HSV_2 RESULT 0.22 0.00 - 0.89 Index

HSV I/II IGG AB, COMBINED 1.04 <=0.89 IV, HSV I/II IGM AB, COMBINED 0.50 <=0.89 IV

The Herpes 1 & 2 tests appear to fall in the negative range, as does the IGM. The lab termed the IGG results as Equivocal-Questionable presence of IgG antibodies.

My Dr's office couldn't seem to explain any of the tests and together what it means. Any help telling me what it means?

thanks

I am NOT amedical professional but only give you information bsed on what I have learned on this exchange.

If I take some of the figures out of the first line what is see is

HSV_1 RESULT 0.11 - 0.89 Index, HSV_2 RESULT 0.22 0.00 - 0.89 Index

What I see from what you have given is that
HSV_1 RESULT 0.11 - 0.89 Index, The HSV 1 is negative.

HSV_2 RESULT 0.22 - 0.89 Index The HSV 2 also would be negative.

The second set of figures which you not as igg seems more like igm figures and the igm should not be used to assess if you have HSV 1 or 2.

As I said I am NOt a medical professional.
