I have posted before and seems now I am just writing after every annual exam I get because for the past 3 times I get tested for herpes I always get the call that I come back positive for HSV 2. I am waiting for the numbers on this specific reading but the other 2 times it is always around 1.1 IgG.

This may be a dumb question but 3 separate blood tests, over 3 years, all "low"positives and no outbreak or none that i can recognize anyway--is it safe to assume I have genital herpes? I will post these results and the type of test once i hear back from my doctor. The only thing I know about the test is that it does have the ability to determine the different from HSV 1 and 2.

    thanks

Post the reesults when you get them so someone can help you figure out where you stand. From what you say it sounds like you got the correct test.

lets say it follows suit and comes back with 1.1 results? I am just trying to gain some perspective as I know I will not get a call back for at least 24-48 hours.

If it comes in low again it may be time to get a Western Blot test done to know for sure. I think most of the labs can do it for you or you can contact the U off Washinton to get the tesst pack and get your Doc to process it for you. See more about it in the Herpes Handbook.

I think that since you keep coming back with a low positive then I would recommend a Western Blot test to confirm if you do nor do not have HSV 2. That is the best way to confirm your status for sure.

Please do come back and let us know what the Western Blot test tells you. the only thing I can figure that you may be getting a false positive and as a result all the more to get the Western Blot done so you will know for sure what your status is. It would be nice if you let usknow what the Westerh Blot is so I can learn from what the WB results are.
