my hsv l/ll igg was 52.0
hsv ll igg type reflex 6.76
dr states I have herpes 1 and 2
test today states hsv type spec immunoblot hsv 1 positive and hsv 2 is negative confused?

The first line is talking about a combination HSV test which is not normally used. The fact that your HSV 2 is 6.76 would make you positive for HSV 2.

To find out your HSV 1 status if you really want know you would need a type specific igg blood test for HSV 1 so you tet that value. seperately. it would/could have a value similiar to the HSV 2 figure. It is up to you if you want to get this test done.

I am not a medical professional and can only tell you what I have learned on this ste.

All I know that if your HSV number is greater than 5.00 you would be considered positive for the HSV 2. Havve you every had an ob? Why did you get tested?

Perhaps do more research and if need be talk to a new provider about this. Read the info in my signature line. Ask more quesitons.
