What is the longest duration till which I could have had HPV?
An_250731 posted:
A few days ago, I tested positive for HPV . I have had intimate relations with just 1 guy in my life. And our first time was in 2007 (or maybe 2008). Does that mean that he has been seeing someone else even after he met me? Is it possible that I've had HPV since all these years?
LADYJULY65 responded:
From what the doctors have told me you can contract HPV years ago and it can remain dormant for 10 yrs or longer. There is no reason to point fingers. As they told me its just important to keep a look out on your body and get the treatment that you need.
elle0317 responded:
yes, especially if it's the cervical dysplasia, this does take some years to become noticeable/detectable.
An_250731 replied to elle0317's response:
thankU for ur reply . . . i really appreciate it
An_250731 replied to LADYJULY65's response:
I didn't mean to point any fingers . . . there is no point . . . because i know who i got it from.
its just this that my doctor put this in my head that my guy might be sleeping around . . . but i know that he is not.
so this really helps to know that the virus can stay dormant for as long as 10 years.
