Long-term risk of HPV-caused cancer

I've read that an HPV infection in one's youth can eventually be a cause of throat cancer. I'm a male who has never knowingly had HPV infection, but I had a few unprotected encounters with call girls 30 years ago. Should I be tested now for HPV as a latent infection? Would it be too late to remedy its cancer-causing potential if I had been infected?
