Does Herpes get better over time
    allrisk99 posted:
I have HSV 1 I guess on my penis and wondered whether over time the outbreaks and shedding will be less and less over tiem. Never had a major outbreak but just one spot on the shaft gets red and looks looks like a healed cut but then gets to where it looks more normal.
I had heard that the outbreaks and shedding gets less and less just wondere if anyone that has this can tell me.

What makes you think that you have HSV 1 genital? Have you had any tests to confirm what you have or are you just guessing. From your post it appears that you have not had any tests and so I would recommend that by now if this is infact herpes it is to late to have it swabbed/cultured/typed to know for sure what it is. The next time you get this issue go and be seen somewhere and have it swabbed/cultured/typed within 48 hours for best results.

You could also get a type specific igg blood test for HSV 1 & 2 to see what your status is for herpes but that will not tell you where you have herpes if you do have it will just tell you what you have.

Tell us what testing you have had or not have done so far.
