    I have hsv1 and my partner knows I want to make sure im doing the correct things when it comes to intimacy. when we have sex we use condoms... but because of my situation we are more comfortable with oral... is it ok to go down on him having hsv1 with no outbreaks? I haven't had any outbreaks since finding out a year ago. we don't use condoms for oral Im not comfortable sucking with condom on. he also likes to try anal im not liking that to well so he hasn't inserted fully in the anus.... no condom. is ok to do these things???

    You didn't say where your HSV1 is located? oral or genital? This information will give you more accurate answers.

    First of all to the comment before mine, HSV1 usually to my knowledge means orally..HSV2 is genitally.

    id be careful and just make certain you do not have an outbreak before performing oral sex.
    you do have it orally correct?
    I have HSV2.
    do you do supressive therapy for yours? it makes a little bit of a difference if you do have an outbreak it makes it not so bad and not last as long.

    Just to let you know that you can get HSV 1 genitally and it is usually is as a result of oral sex or having sex with someone who has HSV 1 genitally.

    The good thing about getting HSV 1 genitally is that it usually has only one more ob after the fffirst time in the first year and then on average you wil get an ob every other yearr after that.
