    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

You didn't say where your HSV1 is located? oral or genital? This information will give you more accurate answers.

First of all to the comment before mine, HSV1 usually to my knowledge means orally..HSV2 is genitally.

id be careful and just make certain you do not have an outbreak before performing oral sex.
you do have it orally correct?
    I have HSV2.
do you do supressive therapy for yours? it makes a little bit of a difference if you do have an outbreak it makes it not so bad and not last as long.

Just to let you know that you can get HSV 1 genitally and it is usually is as a result of oral sex or having sex with someone who has HSV 1 genitally.

The good thing about getting HSV 1 genitally is that it usually has only one more ob after the fffirst time in the first year and then on average you wil get an ob every other yearr after that.
