Asking someone to get tested

Every time I get close to a women and things are going well whenever things start to heat up I essentially freak out and completely end things. This is unfortunately a result of the fact that a woman I used to sleep with in college contacted me months later telling me she was HIV positive. Going through the ordeal of getting testing and luckily not being infected is something I never want to do again...

The question remains, how do I bring this up with someone I want to get intimate with - ideally they would be screened for everything, but that is expensive and quite difficult for me to bring up, any thoughts? I would hate to continue to be alone all because of one scare that happened years ago....

The best thing to do is if both of you are of the same mind that you would like to become sexually active then be up front and ask that person to go with you to get complete testing of all STi'S including Herpes 1 & 2 and make a date of it.

Go get tested and then go for a meal and then wait for the results.

If she is wanting to be sexually active with you then she will be willing to get tested for all STI'S. I know that this may seem odd but it is as important to you and to her to know exactly what each of you have so that you can start with knowing all the risks..

If you have any more questions just ask.

God Bless you
