    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,

I'm Not sure if I'll get the exact advice I need and I don't know if I could do this I not. I have genital herpes a have for the past two years.. I want to donate a kidney to my grandma but I am unsure if I can because of the std?? Nobody in my family knows my situation and I rather not tell anyone. I would ask a doctor but I don't have insurance at the moment and haven't seen a doc since I first found out about this. If anyone can help me or let me know if having herpes would effect donating I'd appreciate it.. I know this doesn't exactly follow in this community..

Having herpes would not limit someone from donating an organ such as a kidney. Herpes does not infect the blood.
