Ignore the Igm test as it is out of date and should not be used for testing for the purpose that you want to dertermine if you have HSV 1 or 2. The HSV 2 is just over the negative range but a very very low positive. Any thing lower than 0.90 is considered a negative but you are so close that you may want to get retested again. Did you have some problems just before this test that made your Provider think to test for herpes? if so how long ago did you have some issues? What type of issues? The HSV 1 is positve but not to worry about that as it is most likely oral HSV 1. Many many people have HSV 1 orally as it is very common.

thank you for answering those results are my boyfriend of 6 yrs those test was done on march after i notice for 4 months i had a yeast infection that kept coming back everytime a had my period since last sept till january, and on Jan n Feb thats when i got for the first time in my entire life i had a painful bump those two months right next to anus thats when i went to my gyn n she said it sound like herpes got tested n sure it was herpes she said i had HSV1 and 2 I never in my life had a blister around mouth anything in my upper body till this day never thanks god oly like lil cuts down there but sometime last year it started geting worst i notice like instead of cuts they were little white pink tiny painful bumps till i then saw 2 on anus then i suspect something not right, i was devestated angry at my boyfriend cause he did get a blister in his lip in nose in ear back of head in the bigining we were dating but i never suspect it would be anything bad, n i also mention to her my gyn that since i been with him a couple of mths when we started daiting i stated getting like little cuts inside big labia in the same spot everytime i got my period, i always thought it had to do with my period so i never got it checked out we started from the begining with condoms but first couple broke we stoped using them all these yrs

First of all your partner should talk to his Provider to see what to as he is sttill considered postive but he is only positive for HsV 2 by .06 or so perhaps he would be advised to follow up with his provider on this matter.

When it comes to you was your blood test done outside of the USA? if so then perhaps they do not give the numeric values and by now it would be to late to as for the numeric values unless the lab keep records of the actual numeric values. If it said Positive for both HSV 1 & 2 then most likely it was 5.00 or more for both of them and so would be in them and so they sometimes just put the positive as the results. If you would like to know ask your provider to see if they have the values or if they can still get them. If you get them then post them here so someone can conffirm that your numeric is infact positive. You also had ob's so if you had ob's then most likely you are positive.

From what I recall if you are acutally taking Acyclovir then from what I remember is that you should be taking 400 mg twice a day for a total amount of 800 mg per day but you cannot take it all at once for it to work properly it should be taken twice a day and approx as close as possible 12 hours appart. To confirm the correct dosage copy and paste the link below and look in that website under "herpes" and you will see the HerpesHand book ahd in that it tells you how much to take of each pill and also how much to take when you get an ob to make it go away promptly.
If you have any more questions just ask so we can help you further.

God Bless you as you move forward.

hi ty and yes its one 400mg tablet twice a day. I did test in private clinic In Connecticut, i will see if my gyn can get the numeric values of my test results. I will be testing again for Oct. since i have a lot of recentment towards my boyfriend since my results i dont know if i want to continue this relationship so in 3 mths i be testing again for everything n ill keep up with my posting. And suppose it was a 5.00 is there any way as to when or how long i have it? Since the little bump on labia always occured when i had my periods, and mayb i did contract hsv2 recently when on jan n feb for the first time in my life i had the bump near anus... ty and god bless.
    abe648 replied to Ely67's response:
If you get a result of greater than 5.00 and that is your first results and if it was taken shortly after your first noticeable ob of GH in the genital area then you most likely would have had if for some time and did not get it from you bf. People can have herpes for 10, 20 or 30 years and have no symptoms and suddently they get an ob. From your bf's test results I do not think he is positive but he is just a bit over the negative value and I think that minor value could be an error and that is why I do recommend that he get retested 3 months after his most recent test.

How many partners have you had in your life time? I was and still am faithful to my wife and it was 10 years before i had what I would call my first noticeable ob after we were married and she stilll does not have HSV 2. Click on the Tiger if you have not done so yet and read my brief story.

Let us know by posting in this post the numeric test results when you get them God Bless you
